Cleveland– CrossFit Affiliate owner Josh Pendergrass suffered a shock during last night’s announcement of CrossFit Open Event 17.1.
“As soon as I saw that the event would include 75 burpee box jump-overs, I knew my athletes were in trouble.Yesterday I had my members do 150 of these for time yesterday.”
Pendergrass is the owner and head trainer of CrossFit Hindsight in Cleveland, Ohio. He says he “deeply regrets” his choice of programming, and says some of his members were still so sore from his gym’s Wednesday workout that they are having trouble with simply daily tasks.
“When I think about doing more burpee box-jumps, I just feel sick, and I’m still having trouble getting down stairs,” Said Cindy Snyder, one of the top athletes at CrossFit Hindsight. “It’s like Dave Castro knew.” She mumbled as she stared blankly into the distance.
“Maybe I over programmed that one,” Pendergrass admitted. “Maybe following mainsite this time of year wouldn’t be a bad idea.”
