At the conclusion of the 2017 Reebok CrossFit Games, only one of six individual competitors standing on the podium was American. Before the award ceremony was over, President Donald Trump was already taking his views to Twitter.
The President expressed concern that American athletes were under represented on the podium, and offered his own theories as to why.
“Those other countries are obviously cheating.” Trump said in a tweet posted just minutes after the conclusion of the event.
A second tweet from Trump was apparently aimed at Brent Fikowski: “Nobody from a socialist country like Canada would actually work hard enough to place 2nd. #steroids #SnowMexican”
Yesterday, President Trump unveiled his plan to address inconsistencies and unfair practices that lead to the decline in American athletes at the top of the CrossFit Games leaderboard.
“The first thing we need to do is build a wall at the border between Australia and the U.S.” Trump tweeted.
In a formal press conference later that day, Trump told approved media outlets, Fox News and Breitbart, his plan for paying for the proposed wall.
“I’ll build it very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall at the Australian border, and I will make Australia pay for that wall. Mark my words.”
“We are going to make the CrossFit Games so great again,” Trump continued. “Not even kangaroos will get over my wall. Believe me, nobody builds walls better than me.”
